# Studio Chat

> Use Callers' AI assistant to build and edit agents in plain language, analyze calls and contacts, and get ideas for new agents.

Studio Chat is the AI assistant built into the Callers dashboard. Ask it about your data ("What are the top reasons customers say no?") or ask it to change an agent ("Add a scenario for pricing questions"), and it does the work for you. It comes in two places:

| Where | What it's for |
| - | - |
| **Overview** page (Studio Chat home) | Questions about your account: calls, contacts, chats, outcomes, trends, dashboards. |
| **AI Assistant** inside the agent editor | Building and editing that agent: script, scenarios, actions, variables, settings. |

> [!NOTE]
>
> Studio Chat is enabled per account. If you don't see the **Overview** page or the assistant, contact [support@callers.ai](mailto:support@callers.ai).

## Ask about your results

Open **Overview** from the sidebar and type a question in **Assign a task or ask anything** (up to 5,000 characters). Or start with a quick action:

| Quick action | What it asks |
| - | - |
| **Analyze recent calls** | Summarize the key trends, outcomes, and notable patterns from the past week. |
| **Find customer objections** | Identify the most common objections and how often each comes up. |
| **Find Agent issues** | Flag operational issues, performance drops, or anomalies in your active agents. |

More example questions:

* "What's the best time of day to call?"
* "Find questions our AI couldn't answer."
* "Compare the success rate of my two outbound agents this month."
* "Show me contacts who asked to be called back but haven't been reached."

Answers can include links to the agents, contacts, and dashboards they mention (**Open campaign**, **Open contact**, **Open dashboard**) and open call transcripts in a side panel.

Studio Chat only reads your data when answering questions; it doesn't change contacts or calls. If your account has [Analytics](https://docs.callers.ai/documentation/using-callers/analytics.md), it can also create and edit dashboards for you, and asks you to confirm by name before deleting one.

### Chat history

Click **All Chats** to see earlier conversations, start a **New Chat**, or delete one (**Delete Chat?**). Each chat keeps its most recent 100 messages.

## Build and edit an agent

In the agent editor, open the AI Assistant (the sparkle button). Choose:

![Agent editor with the AI Assistant panel open on the left, showing a New Chat with the prompt What can I do for you? and a text box reading Tell AI what to do next, beside a script canvas with an Introduction & Qualification block and its subflows](https://mintcdn.com/voxiaai/Un65itTt0mgLk2MT/images/documentation/build-your-agent/ai-chat-panel.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=Un65itTt0mgLk2MT\&q=85\&s=2df2d37ba7d34ce063786aa34ac2d565)

The AI Assistant panel in the agent editor, next to the script canvas.

* **Create or edit scenario**: "Describe what you need and AI will build or update your agent."
* **Get help**: "Ask how Callers works. Answers come from our help docs, and nothing in your agent is changed."

Then describe what you want. The assistant can:

* write or rewrite the script, blocks, and steps,
* add and edit scenarios,
* add actions, variables, and pre-call or post-call workflow items,
* adjust settings such as availability and channels,
* translate the agent into another language,
* create custom code steps (with your approval).

Example prompts:

> Add a branch after the intro for contacts who say they already have a provider. Ask what they use and whether they'd consider switching at renewal.

> Make the opening shorter and friendlier, and ask for permission to continue before pitching.

> Translate this agent to Spanish (Mexico).

### Review and apply changes

The assistant applies its changes to the editor as **unsaved edits**, so you can see them on the canvas right away.

1. Review the changes in the script and settings.
2. Click **Revert changes** to undo them, or keep editing (in the chat or by hand).
3. Click **Save** to keep them (and **Publish**, if your account uses [versions](https://docs.callers.ai/documentation/build-your-agent/versions-and-split-traffic.md)).

![AI Assistant chat after the request to add a step asking if now is a good time to talk: a Base version entry, the assistant's explanation, a highlighted change card reading Added a good time to talk step in the Introduction & Qualification node, and a highlighted Revert changes button](https://mintcdn.com/voxiaai/_YXKfF6QWkI2BTUf/images/documentation/build-your-agent/ai-chat-changes.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=_YXKfF6QWkI2BTUf\&q=85\&s=dd79b696a5f382d14ef078b41c1c2edb)

After a change, the chat shows what was edited and offers Revert changes.

Some changes need your confirmation:

* **Custom code**: "This change includes a custom code step. Review it, then confirm to apply." Click **Review code** to inspect the code, dependencies, and inputs, then **Confirm and apply** or **Dismiss**.
* **Approvals**: the assistant may ask **Approve changes?** with **Preview**, **Apply**, and **Reject**.
* **Connections**: if an action needs an app you haven't connected, you'll see **Connection Required** with a **Create Connection** button.
* **Clarifying questions**: when your request is ambiguous, the assistant asks and waits for you to **Submit** an answer.

> [!TIP]
>
> Give the assistant the same context you'd give a new teammate: who the contacts are, the goal of the conversation, what success looks like, and what the agent must never do. Ask for one change at a time when editing a working agent.

## AI suggestions

When an agent has enough calls, Callers can suggest fixes in a **Suggestions** panel in the editor. Each suggestion points at a specific problem:

| Type | Example |
| - | - |
| High drop-off | Many contacts hang up on a particular step. |
| High interruption | Contacts frequently talk over the agent on a step. |
| Missed question | Contacts ask something the agent couldn't answer. |

Click **Preview Fix** to see the proposed change, **Add Answer** to fill a knowledge gap, or **Dismiss**. Click **Refresh** to check for new suggestions.

## Agent Ideas

On the **Agents** page, **Agent Ideas** analyzes your contacts, call history, knowledge bases, and connected integrations and proposes new agents. See [Create an agent](https://docs.callers.ai/documentation/build-your-agent/starting-a-new-agent.md#agent-ideas).

## Permissions and privacy

* Studio Chat answers with the data your account can access. Sensitive fields are shown only to admins.

## FAQ

> **Can Studio Chat place calls or message contacts?**
>
> No. It reads your data and edits agents. Starting agents, uploading contacts, and contacting people stay in your hands.

> **Are the assistant's edits live immediately?**
>
> No. They're unsaved edits in the editor until you click **Save**, and with versions they also need to be published.

> **Can I attach files or use voice input?**
>
> Not yet. Paste the text you want the assistant to use into the message.
